Patricia Boyer Obituary

Patricia “Patty” Boyer, 81, formerly of Pillager, passed away surrounded by her family on Thursday, November 25, 2021, at Diamond Willow Assisted Living in Baxter.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 3, 2021, at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Brainerd. Family and friends are welcome to gather one hour prior to Mass. Interment will be at St. Thomas Cemetery in Aitkin.

Patty was born July 26, 1940, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of Thomas and Evelyn (Savala) Alcock. When she was a teenager, her family moved to Wauconda, Ill., where she graduated from high school in 1958. Patty married Victor Guerra when she was eighteen and the couple were blessed with three children. In 1970, they moved to Pillager. After Victor passed away, Patty’s daughter-in-law played matchmaker and she found love again with Lloyd Boyer. The couple enjoyed 40 years together.

Patty held various jobs in clerical or retail positions. She especially enjoyed her time at Jake’s Grocery Story and Target. In her spare time, she taught water aerobics at the YMCA. She stayed active by riding horse, cross country skiing, and swimming in the lakes on her property. She and Lloyd took 23 trips with Paulson Travel, including many mystery vacations and a few trips across the pond to see Spain, France, and Ireland.

Most of all, Patty loved her family. She looked forward to seeing her children and grandchildren.

She will be dearly missed by her husband, Lloyd; children, Craig (Roxanne) Guerra, Laura (Steve) Goldberg, and Lisa Guerra (Patrick Finn); Lloyd’s children, Jeff (Liz) Boyer, Kathy (Denny) Neil, and Holly Boyer (Lee); 15 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and siblings, Sharon, Dennis, Kevin, Mary, Tommy, and Jerry. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Victor; parents; and siblings, Timmy and Terry.
