Robert “Roby” Petersen, 59, formerly of Mounds View, passed away with family by his side on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at Good Samaritan – Bethany in Brainerd. A Celebration of Roby’s Life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, September 28, 2023, at Zion Lutheran Church in Brainerd. Family and friends are welcome to gather one hour prior to services and to stay for a luncheon to follow.
Roby was born April 9, 1964, in Fridley, the son of Robert Petersen and Yvonne (Rempfer) Beebe. His kind heart and genuine, authentic ways were evident from the start – traits he never lost in 59 years. After graduating from high school, Roby started a career with Medtronic and most recently worked as a Project Manager. It was a job he enjoyed that also allowed him to pursue his true passion – FISHING, which his dad, Bob, who he had a very special bond with, shared his love of fishing and hunting with Rob at a very young age and they enjoyed these hobbies together over the years. Later in life, he never found a lake he didn’t want to fish, but most often he could be found on Lake Edward. There he could also visit his mom and stepdad who were very important to him. He also liked to go hunting or find time to play a round of golf. He was hardworking, funning, and laid back. He is dearly loved.
He will be missed by his mama, Yvonne; sisters, Linda Sarvey and Tammy Petersen; brother, Tim Petersen; nephews, Ryan (Kacie) Sarvey, Andy Sarvey, Aaron (Savannah Belcher) Sarvey, and Erik (Leisem Rosales) Petersen; niece, Emily (Josh) Sheehan; and many extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his dad, Robert; stepdad, Jay Beebe; and grandparents: Florence Norris, Minnie Roth, Ralph Petersen, Fred Rempfer, and Ernie Borud.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the caring and kind staff at Good Samaritan – Bethany in Brainerd for their true friendship and natural connections with Roby. His family is grateful for your care.
