Dr. Rodney T. Zimmerman, 77, of Baxter, died after a long and courageous battle with cancer on September 7, 2020 at his home surrounded by family. A private celebration of Rod’s life will be held at a later date for his family and close friends.

Rod was born on November 27, 1942, in Merricourt, ND, the son of Theodore and Elsie (Roeszler) Zimmerman. On September 10, 1966, Rod married Sandy Branvold. Rod worked the majority of his career for Pearle Vision. He was an avid golfer with 4 hole in ones. In the summer you could find Rod with his golf buddies on the Legacy course at Cragun’s, where they enjoyed telling stories and jokes. Rod loved a good joke. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching his grandkids play sports and being with family and friends.

Rod is survived by his wife, Sandy; children, Chris (Amy) Zimmerman; Jill (Brian) Roddy; and grandchildren, Max, Grace, Nolan and Chelsea. He was proceeded in death by his parents.
