Suzanne Elizabeth (Marshall) Erickson

Suzanne E. Erickson, 102, of Brainerd, passed away at her home on April 9, 2021. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at First Lutheran Church in Brainerd at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Patty Bjorklund and Pastor Nathan Lundgren officiating.

Suzanne was born in Milton, North Dakota on February 4, 1919 to P.E. and Emma Marshall, the fifth of seven children. The family moved to Brainerd in 1931 where Suzie attended Brainerd schools. In 1940, she married Phillip Erickson with whom she had three children. Following Phil’s retirement they spend their winters in Arizona. Phillip passed away in 1990. In 1993, Suzie married Darrel Rathbun of Spring Valley, MN. They spent their summers in Brainerd and winters in Arizona until 2012 when they made Brainerd their permanent home. Darrel passed away in 2016.

Suzie was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Brainerd and a long time member of the Brainerd Garden Club. She and Phil were avid square dancers, and were members of Ray’s Promenaders in Brainerd. She enjoyed cooking, flower gardening, sewing and playing cards.

Suzanne was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Phillip Erickson and Darrel Rathbun; brothers, Percy, Allen, George, Robert and John Marshall; sister, Isabelle Austin; son-in-law, Andrew Endersbee; and grandson, James Endersbee. She is survived by her children, Phyllis Erickson of Apache Junction, AZ, Steve (RayAnn) Erickson of Brainerd, and Sharon Endersbee of Perth, Australia; granddaughters, Suzanne Endersbee and Beth (Kane Black) Endersbee of Perth, Australia; and great grandsons, James and Lachlan Black of Perth, Australia. Also surviving are step grandchildren and step great grandchildren of the Rathbun family.

Arrangements are being completed by Nelson-Doran Funeral Home, Brainerd.
