Terry Moberg

Terry Moberg, 80, passed away Friday, September 3, 2021, at Minnesota Veterans Home – Fergus Falls.  Services for Terry will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 10, 2021, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brainerd.  Pastor Hans Anderson will officiate.  Family and friends are invited to gather Thursday evening at the Nelson – Doran Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. and again one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.

Terry was born June 7, 1941, the son of Arthur and Freda (Ludhe) Moberg, in St. Cloud, MN.  The family lived in Pequot Lakes and in 1959, Terry graduated from high school.  He enlisted in the US Navy following his graduation and was a radioman on the USS Lansing.  In 1962, he participated in nuclear testing and received a Good Conduct Medal.  He served in the US Naval Reserves for three years following his active duty.  In 1965, Terry purchased Brainerd Ambulance and operated it until 1987 when he sold the business to North Memorial Hospital.  He continued to work for them until his retirement.  He was involved with the Red Cross and was an instructor of CPR and First Aid for many years.

Terry was active in his community and was volunteer firefighter for 21 years and enjoyed his time as a Deputy Coroner for Crow Wing and Cass County.  Terry’s spare time was captured by photography and Irish Setters.  He enjoyed breeding and showing his dogs and created a large data base of Irish Setters – something that was in demand by other breeders.

He will be dearly missed by his children, Lee (Leny) Moberg, Kurt (Julie) Moberg, Brenda (Mike) Ittner, and Chantelle Leonard; several grandchildren; brother, Tom (Mary) Moberg, and two nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Tammy; and grandson, David.
