Vera Jane Breeden, 79, of Brainerd, passed away peacefully Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Good Samaritan Village – Woodland. A gathering for family and friends will take place on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 from 5-7 p.m. at Nelson – Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd. A Celebration of Vera’s Life will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 22, 2021 at Heritage Church in Baxter. Interment will follow at Lakewood Cemetery in Ironton.
Vera was born May 10, 1941, in Ironton, the daughter of Howard and Sadie (George) Richardson. After graduating from high school. In 1975, she married Calvin Breeden. Vera adored being a mom and grandma. She was happiest when her family was around. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and embroidery. And even though the end results were not often favorable, she liked trying out new craft projects. Vera was fond of gardening and her favorite flowers were peonies and lilacs. She found much comfort in reading from the bible each day.
She will be missed by her children, Lori Jo Turner, of California, Tammi (Lee) Banks, of St. Cloud, Rebecca Lynne (Bradley) Elshaug, of Brainerd, Roxanna (John) O’Donnell, of Holiday, FL, Bennett (Alda) Anthony, of St. Paul, and Kristina Rubitschung, of Pine River; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild; and brother, Donald (Doris) Richardson, of Forest Lake. She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin; son-in-law, Eric Rubitschung; grandson, Daniel; parents, Howard and Sadie; sister, JoAnn; brother, Dale; foster son, Gordy Fitch.
