Virginia "Ginger" Nordin Obituary

Virginia “Ginger” Elaine (Ronshaugen) Nordin, 77, formerly a long-time resident of Crosby, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family, on Tuesday, April 7th, 2020.

Ginger was born on November 28th, 1942 in Minot, ND. She was known for her sense of humor, charisma and strength. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her. Ginger was a long-time Manager of the Crosby Laundromat which she enjoyed thoroughly. She had many hobbies, including flower gardening, watching birds; especially hummingbirds and cardinals, traveling to visit family, sewing, crocheting, and doing puzzles. She shared her love and spread much joy making some family favorite dishes; chili, potato soup, and potato salad, as well as her favorites; lefse and doughboys. Most of all, Ginger loved her family, her children, grandchildren, and adored her great grandchildren. Her fondest memories were spent at special events and holidays with her family.

She was preceded in death by her father Elmer and mother Verna (Cedar) Ronshaugen, her sister Marlene (Ronshaugen) Barnett and brother Ellis Ronshaugen, as well as her granddaughter Angel Rae Rueger.

Ginger was a very loving and supportive mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who truly treasured her family.

She is forever remembered and survived by many including the love of her life, Bucky (Duane) Weitnauer.

Her cherished siblings; Laurene (Ronshaugen) Hingtgen, Lee Ronshaugen, Tom and Grace (Ronshaugen) Rendahl, and Stephen and Bonita (Loucks) Ronshaugen.

Her former husband; Gary Wayne Nordin, her beloved children; James and Julie (Burton) Nordin, Charles and Melissa (Nordin) Templin, Elden and Wendy (Nordin) Rueger, Stephan Nordin, Joseph and Tina (Nordin) Avery, Aimee Nordin, and Garyson (Duke) Nordin and Melissa Maiwald.

Her dearest grandchildren; Thomas and Joseph Nordin, Charles and Lexie (Scanlon) Templin, Jonathan Templin and Kayla Neu, Joshua Templin, Jennica Templin, and Arianna Templin. Luke and Annah (Rueger) Swanson, Michael and Grace (Rueger) Eberhardt, Elizabeth Rueger and Ian Haug, and Paul Rueger. Stevie Austin. Leigha Avery, Jacob Avery, Riley Avery, Lillianna Avery, and Amelia Avery. Nick Laber and Ginelle Espeseth, Adam and Ashley (Espeseth) Peterson, Landyn Espeseth, and Chase Galles. Avery and Elliott Nordin. Derek Pulak and Angela Oder.

Her adored great grandchildren; Ava and Alex Templin, Carter Templin, Finnley Laber, Eleanor Peterson, Mabel Swanson, Oliver Avery, Radly and Reed Pulak, as well as her many nieces and nephews.

She will be deeply missed and forever in all of our hearts.

An intimate burial service will be held at Baxter Cemetery on Monday, April 13th at 3pm. A Celebration of Ginger’s Life Picnic will be held at a later date (to be determined). Until then, everyone who remembers her is asked to celebrate Ginger’s life in their own way, and to carry on her name through unsolicited acts of kindness.
